Advanced Search Manager enables you to build on-site search based on your existing products, options, attributes, categories and brands. This has been largely superseded by Product Tag Filters which offers greater flexibility.
To set this up go to Advanced Search Manager and select what you want to display in search then add this as a page app to the shop_layout page and shop_product_layout page as a sidebar app.
